Nutricion Up 65: Vitamin D status and associated factors among Portuguese older adults

The study Nutrition UP 65 aims to reduce nutritional inequalities in the Portuguese elderly population. This project aims to improve knowledge about nutritional status, specifically about malnutrition, obesity, sarcopenia, vitamin D and hydration of the Portuguese elderly. The principal goal of this study is evaluate vitamin D status and its associated factors in Portuguese older adults from the Nutrition UP 65 study.

ddi.Data Collection Methodology 1) Cross-sectional observational: Sociodemographic, lifestyle, clinical and nutritional status, skin phenotype, cognitive performance and household income data were collected using a structured questionnaire. The interview was conducted by eight previously trained registered nutritionists, who also carried out anthropometric data collection. Sociodemographic data included information on sex, date of birth, regional area, residence type, marital status, education and professional activity. 2) Collection of venous blood samples or urine.
